    Description

    Offered is this lot of three identical two-sided pre-printed US government documents on pink paper, Form 2242 for the Mail Messenger Service. None of the three have been filled in. I have not been able to find out anything about this service, but the forms reference various Assistant Postmasters General, so it was apparently part of the Post Office. The forms are not dated but appear to be from the early 1900s, making them vintage and possibly antique. The Post Office was a department of the Federal Government at the time, and two of the forms have a "Great Seal of the US" watermark while the third has a partial version of the watermark (see last photo for full example). These are apparently rare finds; at the time of original listing I could not find any other items like this for sale on eBay.
    Each form is approx. 8 5/8" x 7". All are in good condition, with no tears. There are a few pinholes. One has some staining and another has a creased upper-left front corner and considerable browning on the back.
